Oh, and of course my other goal in the thread was to stir up some major controversy. The Master Sensei enjoys the chaos of a hostile environment.

Don't let Paul steer you away with his mombo jombo. Get the PS3, it's a great investment. It's the future of home entertainment that'll bring peace and harmony to the world!

This from the asian who probably owns stock in Sony. Very Happy

Are you going to take that Mr.Bruce. Huh

Well, went with the Phillips $39.95 DVD player, rather than the PlayStation 3, for reasons of frugality and time. Not that I am not excited. I love the fact that I have a DVD player once again!!!

MGS4 is a masterpiece. It is the most amazing game to come over in a very, very, very long time.

I've got both a 360 and PS3, I used to have a Wii. It really depends on your particular situation.

If you want a console your kids can enjoy, Wii.

If you want a console that'll also play bluray movies, has a web browser, and fantastic graphics? PS3.

Want to do a lot of online play and you enjoy mailing your console in for repairs, 360. I love my 360 for CoD4, BF:BC, and a variety of other games. But as soon as Sony steps up their online gaming and release Home, the 360 will be whipped. I wasn't joking about the repairs either, there are a number of faulty parts in the 360s that result in them over heating and giving you the ring of death.

The PS3 is an all around better bet right now. It's the cheapest bluray player, it has some good exclusive titles and it shares most other titles with the 360.

If we were going to compare exclusive power titles, Halo 3 and MSG4, you'd be a fool, A FOOL, to favor Halo 3.

And everyone knows, Mr. T pities da fool.

Get the PS3, Mr. Minor speaks wisdom!!! I've had both systems and PS3 is the best.

I hear Metal Gear Solid 4 is definitely a classic but I need to hear from more people who have it.

Although it looks as if you are only considering console systems, this is (in my opinion) the most powerful gaming system available to consumers.

That computer starts at $5,600, it's a totally different playing field.

You're still at least talking about PS3 hardware if you were to recommend that we all use IBM's Roadrunner.

"David Turek, vice-president of IBM's supercomputing programs, likened Roadrunner to "a very souped-up Sony PlayStation 3". The $120m (£61m) supercomputer was named after New Mexico's state bird, and is more than twice as fast as the previous record holder, another IBM machine called Blue Gene."

PS3s are being used in clusters to form super computers, you'll never see that come from the 360.

The only thing I can't stand about PCs is having to upgrade components whenever a new game comes out. But I wouldn't mind owning a badass system. Currently I use my mac to stream HD movies to my television, I think thats all its really good for haha....

But between 360 and PS3? Very tough call. It really just comes down to the exclusive titles. I'm sure when God of War 3 comes out, I'll be jumping on the PS3 bandwagon. Un

We need more "Genesis does what NintenDON'T" commercials...

Speaking of games, has anyone heard of Spore? Their creature creator comes out tomorrow but you guys have to see what some people are coming out with.

Amen brother. MGS4 is awesome looking. It almost makes me puke while playing it, the motion is so real. PS3 is by far my favorite system and will easliy catch up to and surpass the 360 once its full functionality is reached.

They'll catch up when, in a year? 2 years? The 360 is 2 1/2 years old, so it will be 4 years old at when Sony catches up. At that point Microsoft will release the Xbox 5000 Titanium Edition.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda! Sony was slow to market, rushed it and now some of you have a big black plastic box. Just accept it and move on.

I just googled MGS4. So, you basically have a rip off of Splinter Cell that you think is better than anything on the 360...? Rolling Eyes

While I don't really have a fight in the xbox vs ps3 debate, the orginial metal gear solid came out way before splinter cell, so if anything is being ripped off, its MGS.

By the way, great thread Jeremy, way to get a nice conflict going. Very Happy

The MGS series has been around for some time now and Splinter Cell was a blatant rip.

Ben you're welcome to swing by my place sometime and check out MGS4. But I warn you, it is pretty amazing, it's video game porn.

Rushed it?.....Who has the red ring of death.....hum....let's see...oh yeah it's the 360. They can come out with the xbox 10000 with the kung fu grip and it still won't compare! No blu ray, no free internet service. I heard they're reverting back to beta max for their top notch movie format! Laughing
