Sexual assault and violence has touched all of our lives in some way. Some of us have been victims, some of us have had loved ones who have been victims and all of us have heard stories of victims. Just the thought of it makes us feel uncomfortable, vulnerable and even afraid. It is the goal of Capital Jiu-Jitsu™ to empower women to be proactive in order to prevent attack situations, and, in the unfortunate and rare event of an actual attack situation, to provide women with a plan of action and the necessary training to successfully defend themselves and get away.
Capital Jiu-Jitsu She'Safe classes are specifically tailored for womens' self-defense. A She'Safe class teaches women basic self-defense strategies - such as prevention, posture, perception, protection and creating space - as well as proven techniques from standing and on the ground. When confronted by an attacker, most women find themselves on the ground, the area of combat most often neglected in traditional self-defense courses. She'Safe is the only women's self-defense course that prepares women to defend themselves standing and on the ground, the place where the battle-tested methods of Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu enable a smaller, weaker practitioner to defeat a larger and more powerful attacker. She'Safe imparts a foundation of martial arts knowledge that will empower women to defend themselves and escape real-life martial confrontations.
Capital Jiu-Jitsu hosts regular She'Safe Seminars every few months in Alexandria, and Capital Jiu-Jitsu instructors are available for She'Safe Women's Self-Defense Seminars by request in Alexandria, Fairfax, Arlington VA, Sterling, Chantilly, Great Falls, Herndon, Brambleton, South Riding, Arcola, Springfield, Stoneridge, Falls Church, Manassas, Washington DC and throughout the Northern Virginia area.
Women interested in taking weekly self-defense classes may also choose to join either the Capital Jiu-Jitsu Street Self-Defense and Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Course or the Capital Muay Thai Program where we provide our students, male and female, with all the knowledge and training they need for self-defense. She'Safe Women's Self-Defense Classes meet regularly in our Old Town Alexandria/Arlington VA and Loudoun County/Dulles locations.
