Capital Jiu-JItsu Makes Another Donation to the DC Rape Crisis Center
November 16, 2006
On August 24th Capital Jiu-Jitsu™ held the first SheSafe™ Women’s Self-Defense Seminar to educate women in marital arts and raise money for the DC Rape Crisis Center. On November 16th, the school hosted our second seminar, raising a 2006 total of $360 for the DC Rape Crisis Center! Capital Jiu-Jitsu™ is committed to holding 4 SheSafe™ Women’s Self-Defense Seminars every calendar year! Each seminar follows a SEPERATE curriculum, and curriculum resources pages are always provided.
Our efforts aim to increase awareness of Self-Defense and bring attention to the services offered by the DC Rape Crisis Center. Capital Jiu-Jitsu proudly made a total of $360.00 in contributions to the DC Rape Crisis Center through the Network For Good. Capital Jiu-Jitsu strives to be first among martial arts schools and Jiu-Jitsu schools in the area of women's self-defense. Women from Arlington, Alexandria and the greater Washington DC area take advantage of our regular Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing classes, as well as our quarterly She'Safe Women's Self-Defense Seminars. Jiu-Jitsu is by far the single best marital art for women, focusing on the grappling aspect of a fight, which is the range of combat where sexual assaults occur. We teach women to use leverage and technique to overcome bigger, stronger adversaries.
