Capital Jiu-Jitsu™ Makes FOX 5 MORNING NEWS Once Again!
March 11, 2007
To provide the general public with information about mixed martial arts, and to showcase "normal" people who train in Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA, FOX 5 Morning News will be at Capital Jiu-Jitsu™ on Monday morning from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. We will have adults from our Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and CrossFit™ programs, as well as children from our Kid's Jiu-Jitsu & Mixed Martial Arts Course!
In addition to the morning news, FOX 5 will be coming back in the afternoon to interview pilot Dave Guider, who began taking Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu & Street Self-Defense classes after the 911 terrorist attacks.
The IFL (International Fight League) will present “Battleground” on Monday, March 12th at 8:00 p.m. on WDCA Channel 20. “We are looking forward to exposing these great athletes and our legendary coaches and the sport of MMA to the largest TV audience ever,” said Gareb Shamus, co-founder and CEO, International Fight League.
The International Fight League is the world's first team-based mixed martial arts league. In each team contest, two squads of five fighters -- each trained by a veteran coach -- compete in individual bouts across five weight classes (155 lbs., 170 lbs., 185 lbs., 205 lbs. and 265 lbs.). The team that wins at least three of these five matches gets the victory, with the top four teams at the end of the regular season moving on to the playoffs. The postseason culminates with the World Team Championships, pitting the league's two best teams against one another with the IFL Championship Ring on the line.
