Marcelo Garcia & Andre Galvao Training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
March 30, 2007
Here's two clips from the Arte Suave DVD showing Marcelo Gracia and Andre Galvao training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
At the time, Marcelo was training in Fabio Gurgel's Sau Paulo Jiu-Jitsu Academy (he recently moved to New York to teach and train Gracie Jiu-JItsu). Since winning ADCC in 2003, Marcelo has been one of the most successful grapplers in the world in both gi and no gi competitions. He is a Mundial champion and ADCC 2005 champion, having defeated the likes of Renzo Gracie, Pablo Popovich, Diego Sanchez, Ricco Rodriguez, Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro and Andre Galvao.
This video helps dispell the myth that the best way to trian for competitions is at 100% all the time. Here, Marcelo is super relaxed, which is how we encourage our students at Capital Jiu-Jitsu in Alexandria to train, Washington DC, Fairfax and Arlington's premiere school for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, MMA and Muay Thai kickboxing.
Also from Arte Sauve, this video show's Mundial Champion Andre Galvao trianing as a brow belt. Galvao is a mundial champion as well, and this video was shot at TT Academy in Sao Paulo, which has since disbanded.
