CJJ's next in-house tournament will take place on April 18th in Loudoun County.

The Capital Jiu-Jitsu In-House Tournament is scheduled for April 18th 2009! This will be an Kids and adults Gi Tournament (our No-Gi Tournament is scheduled for this summer), and divisions are open ONLY to current members of Capital Jiu-Jitsu.
Registration Fee: $10
Weigh-ins & Registration: 11:30pm
Fights Begin: 12:00pm
Divisions:
Adults are divided by weight with the exception of the Absolute Division which is open to all competitors, regardless of size. There will be white, blue, and purple divisions. No different age brackets. There will be three weight divisions, and the cut-off for each division will be determined after the weigh-ins to ensure competitors will be equally distributed in each bracket.
There will also be a women's Absolute Division (no weight brackets) if more than two women show up to compete. If only one or two women show up then they will be placed into what will become co-ed brackts.
Kids will be divided by weight.
Rules:
Time Limit: 5 Minutes Per Match
Gi Scoring System: Takedown to Guard or Half Guard - 2 points; Takedown to Side Mount - 3 Points; Sweep (with legs) - 2 points; Pass opponents guard - 3 points; Mounted position - 4 points; Back Mount with Hooks in - 4 points; Knee on Belly - 3 Points.
NOTE: To gain points for position, the competitor must show clear control for 3 seconds. Knee Bars, Heel Hooks, Twisting Leg Locks, and Neck Cranks are ILLEGAL. No slamming at all. This means the only leg attacks allowed are straight ankle locks.
